Consumer AI is collecting our personal data at an unforeseen level of intimacy and granularity. We have never had such insight into people's inner worlds and characters, nor the tools to intelligently understand them.
I'm very interested in how these digital stores of self-knowledge can be used to expand our physical worlds and enable real-world connection. How can we manufacture this kind of serendipity at scale, in a way which is broadly accessible?
I believe it requires an agent's understanding of your life. So I put together makeserendipity.com to test out this hypothesis.
First, you extract your LLM user profile from any AI chat platform that you use with memory configured on. Then, you can add friends and be connected with others whose personality, interests or life circumstances overlap with yours.
Based on your user profile and weekly journal, Serendipity can thoughtfully synthesize the implicit needs arising in your life and select something that would expand your day-to-day, planning things for you and your friends to do in real life.
Some things it recommended me: going to see Chungking Express at the Roxie, attending a reading at City Lights, chilling in the baths at Kabuki Springs in Japantown, hanging out at Dogpatch Saloon, going for a Sunday morning swim at Aquatic Park.
This is a personal project — there's only login to make sure that everyone's real. Add me as a friend here :) and let me know your thoughts at joycechen.246<at>gmail.com !
